How Many Days Should You Stay in Turkey for Dental Treatment?

How Many Days Should You Stay in Turkey for Dental Treatment?

One of the first practical questions patients ask when considering dental treatment in Turkey is how long they need to stay. The honest answer is that it depends entirely on the type of treatment you are having. A simple veneer case requires a different timeline than a full-mouth implant restoration. Understanding the realistic timeframes helps you plan flights, accommodation, and time off work without unnecessary stress or rushed clinical decisions.

Hollywood Smile and Veneers: 6 to 7 days

A full set of porcelain veneers or a Hollywood Smile makeover typically requires six to seven days in Antalya. On your first day, you will have a comprehensive consultation, digital smile design session, and tooth preparation. The lab then needs three to four working days to craft your custom porcelain restorations. During this time, you will wear high-quality temporary veneers and are free to enjoy the city. Your final appointment involves trying in the permanent veneers, making any last adjustments to shade or shape, and bonding them permanently. Most patients fly home the following day feeling confident in their new smile.

Single implant or small cases: 5 to 7 days for the surgery

If you need one to three dental implants without immediate loading, the surgical phase itself is straightforward — often completed in a single appointment lasting under an hour. However, you should plan to stay five to seven days to allow for the initial consultation, any necessary extractions, the implant placement, and a follow-up check before flying. The implants then need three to six months to integrate with your jawbone before the final crowns are placed, which requires a second shorter visit of three to four days.

Full-mouth restoration (All on 4, All on 6): two visits, 6 nights each

Full-arch implant treatments like All-on-4 or All-on-6 are the most complex procedures and require two separate visits to Turkey. The first visit lasts approximately six nights and includes extractions, implant placement, and fitting of a fixed temporary prosthesis that you wear home. After three to six months of healing, you return for another six-night stay during which your permanent zirconia bridge is fabricated, tried in, adjusted, and permanently fixed. This two-visit approach ensures proper healing and the best possible long-term outcome.

Why not push everything into one short trip?

Some clinics advertise "teeth in a day" or promise to complete complex treatments in impossibly short timeframes. While immediate-load protocols do exist for certain cases, rushing dental work to fit a tight travel schedule often compromises quality. Porcelain needs time to be layered and fired properly. Gums need time to heal before final impressions are taken. Implants need time to integrate. A clinic that respects these biological and technical realities is one that prioritises your long-term result over a convenient marketing message.

What about the days you're not at the clinic?

Antalya is not just a dental destination — it is one of Turkey's most beautiful coastal cities. Between appointments, patients explore the historic old town of Kaleiçi, visit the stunning Düden Waterfalls, relax on Konyaaltı Beach, or take day trips to ancient ruins like Perge and Aspendos. Many of our patients tell us that the "waiting days" turned out to be the highlight of their trip. You are not stuck in a hotel room recovering — you are enjoying a genuine holiday while your dental work is being crafted.

How to plan your stay

We recommend booking flexible flights when possible, or at minimum adding one buffer day at the end of your planned stay. While delays are rare, having a small cushion means you never feel pressured to approve work you are not completely happy with. Your patient coordinator at Safari Health Journey will provide a day-by-day schedule before you travel, so you know exactly which days involve clinic visits and which are free for sightseeing, relaxation, or simply enjoying the Mediterranean sun.

The right amount of time

The right length of stay is the one that gives your treatment the time it needs without rushing any step. It is better to stay one day longer than to leave with work that was hurried to meet a flight. At Safari Health Journey, we help you plan a realistic timeline from the very first consultation, so you can book with confidence and arrive knowing exactly what to expect each day of your visit.
