Some clinics quote only the clinical procedure — the dentist's time and the surgery itself — and list laboratory fees separately. Since lab work accounts for a substantial portion of the total cost (especially for crowns, veneers, and bridges), this can add hundreds or even thousands to your final bill. Always ask whether lab fees are included in the quoted price. If they are listed separately, request the exact amount so you can calculate the true total before making any decisions.
A clinic might quote a price that assumes the use of budget materials while marketing themselves with premium brand names. Ask for the clinic's warranty policy in writing, including what is covered, for how long, and under what conditions.
Several warning signs suggest a clinic may not be fully transparent about costs. Be cautious if the quoted price is dramatically lower than competitors without clear explanation, if the clinic is reluctant to provide an itemised breakdown, if they pressure you to decide quickly or pay a large deposit before providing a treatment plan, if they cannot name specific material brands, or if their warranty terms are vague or verbal rather than written. A trustworthy clinic will provide a detailed, itemised quote that includes all clinical procedures, all lab work, all materials by brand name, all diagnostic imaging, all medications, and all follow-up appointments within the treatment period. They will clearly state what is not included (flights, accommodation if not packaged, tourist activities) so you can budget accurately. They will also provide their warranty terms in writing and explain their policy for handling complications. This level of transparency takes more effort to prepare, but it protects both the patient and the clinic.
Ask one question: "Is this the final price, or could it change after I arrive?" A clinic that answers honestly and explains the rare circumstances under which a plan might need adjustment is one you can trust.
